SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – A Georgia author is taking the phrase “dogs are mans’ best friend” to a new level when a family’s Golden Retriever turns not only into a human football player.
A.J. Symon read his book “Golden Boy” to students at Savannah Country Day School on Wednesday. Thursday, Symon joined Morning Break to share why he wrote the novel.
Symon said he owned a golden retriever named Chip in his youth. His present service dog, Bubba, is Chip’s grandson.
Symon continues his trip in Savannah with two events on Thursday, Oct. 22. He’s hosting book signings at Foxtail Riverside from noon to 2 p.m. and Barnes and Noble from 5 to 7 p.m.
